Over 16 million people suffer from depression. Sadly, for approximately one-third of those suffering from depression, these medications are not effective. Another third get partial relief from medication. There are approximately 43,000 suicides annually in the US because of untreated/untreatable depression.

Neuropathic Pain

Neuropathic pain estimates have been recently reported to be as high as 8% of the general population. Over $40 billion annually in spent on costs attributable to neuropathic pain.

What is neuropathic pain? The definition of neuropathic pain is those pains that result from abnormal function of neurons. An example might be viral damage of nerves in herpes zoster. Other causes could include nerve compression, tumors or altered blood flow.

Neuropathic pain is commonly under-diagnosed, under-treated, and may be associated with suffering, disability, and impaired quality of life. Standard treatment with conventional analgesics does not typically provide effective relief.

In addition to depression and neuropathic pain, we treat the following conditions:

There is a chemical in your brain that forms memories of traumatic events. That chemical is called glutamate. Ketamine is able to treat PTSD by numbing the glutamate receptors. By numbing the receptors, fear and stress are no longer attached to the traumatic memories. Ketamine infusions may help you cope with your PTSD symptoms by making these memories less traumatic. After a series of treatments, ketamine infusion therapy can promote healing within your mind and provide long-term relief.

Ketamine has been proven to successfully treat anxiety by correcting the cellular imbalance in the brain that cause anxiety. Ketamine acts as a neural growth stimulator. By stimulating the brain’s growth, there is an increase in the connections between synapses and boosts the brain’s overall functional capacity.

The result is an increased serotonin production which produces positive effects that last for days, long after ketamine has been flushed from their system.

Chronic Pain

Many people live with chronic pain sometimes lasting for long periods of life. Narcotic are often prescribed. But narcotics have side effects and can cause addiction, dependence and other negative side effects.

Studies and experience has shown Ketamine infusions can successfully treat and manage pain without the addictive properties of narcotics. Some patients can feel immediate relief without the typical negative side effects of other pain medicines even after one treatment.

Ketamine is a medicine that acts as an analgesic, blocking the receptors that send signals of pain to the brain. Not only does it prevent neurons from firing pain signals, but it also promotes healing within those cells to provide long-term relief.

Chronic pain conditions that can be treated with ketamine include:

  • Fibromyalgia
  • Migraines
  • Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ)
  • Phantom Limb Pain
  • Neuropathic Pain
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)
  • Inclusion-body Myositis (IBM)
  • Lichen Sclerosus (LS)

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Some patients have noticed a rapid relief of the symptoms OCD with Ketamine treatments.

If you have constant intrusive thoughts, ketamine may be able to quickly alleviate symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Some patients have seen the effects of the drug last for weeks.
